Bangkok Dolls & Museum
Situated in Pratunam, Bangkok, the dolls displayed in this museum are the works of world class doll makers giving scrupulous attention to detail during the creation process. Each design is planned after extensive research where antique costumes are based on ancient Thai legends, temple murals and other historic Thai illustrations. The unique feature in these dolls are that all material used to make them are supplied locally.

The traditional costumes of the dolls represent different levels of village and rural life in Thailand which includes farmers at work, villagers in traditional folk dance during the festive season, hill tribes and their colourful display of costumes, vendors selling their harvest, the models of khon dance, traditional drum dance and more. The special feature in the museum is the depiction of the Thai version ofRamayanaya portraying the battle between Rama and king Ravana. It has 35 characters acting out the scene on a 3 meter long set.
