Pravet-Burirom Canal, the long waterway which runs through the district, is a natural habitat of fresh water fish such as, serpent-head fish, catfish carp, Pangasius larnaudii, and most of all Pantgasius fowleri.

Thousand of Pangasius fowleri can be found residing in temple compounds since most temples have established sheltered areas where catching fish is prohibited. The fish are well fed each day with rice left from the alms bowls of the monks. Larnboon, Latkrabang, Sankaracha, and Sutthapoth are temples where large numbers of fish can be found..
